Rolle College Fiasco

So, the "deal is off", as reported in our local press, it would now seem the hoped for saving of the "Rolle Campus" as a "post 16 educational facility" is not going to happen. After all the bluster and promises by the local council, the plan has been abandoned. This will now mean, that all the Rolle Campus, faces being sold of for "Macarthy and Stonesque" bijou retirement developments. The infrastructure of Exmouth cannot stand levels of development of this kind. We already have an ageing population, which places an unbalanced strain on local services, why do we need more housing for well of retired civil servants from Walton on Bloody Thames. We need affordable housing for local people, we need real jobs to employ local people and we need investment in industries, for sustained long term growth. We do not need to see expensive luxury retirement apartments being built on the college site, or on the old playing fields. This whole affair is a fiasco of the highest order and I feel questions need to be asked over the deals that were done with the University of Plymouth, when they took over the college, as the whole affair stinks!

Knee Jerk Reaction Time!

Well what a surprise, the Government (you know, those people who know whats best for us!) Look like they are going to ban "petting animals" for kids, because of the "E Coli" outbreak at the farm in Surrey. So a generation of children, now face the possibility, that they will never feed a goat, or stroke a donkey, touch a pig, or cuddle a newborn lamb......thanks to the "Orwellian control freaks" that run our country. For years, children have visited country parks, pets corners in zoo's and farms, to learn about and interact with animals. Why does the government see fit to take away everyone's chances of enjoying a visit to such places, all because of an outbreak, which could easily have been caused by parents failing to look after their children correctly and not washing their hands. We face a grave danger, that if we continue to "wrap children up" in cotton wool, we will end up with a generation of kids who have never played!, never grazed a knee or elbow, never climbed a tree, never experienced the thrill of danger or the fear of the unknown, an entire generation of namby pamby, wishy washy future do gooders, fit only for public sector jobs or careers in health and safety or human resources...WTF!!! Kids need to get grubby, have fun, get bruises and scrapes, so they know pain and fear and all the emotions they will need to survive the jungle that awaits them in the big wide world. Then again I suppose that,s not the "Labour Way" is it? Labour needs a compliant soft underbelly, of non questioning sheep to continue unquestioning support of its goals and ambitions, so maybe it will suit their future needs...

Stupid new law!

As a Cyclist, motorcyclist and car user, I have seen all sorts of stupid behaviour, by every sort of road user. Accidents are common when cycling and motorcycling, mainly due to other road users failure of concentration. However, there are also accidents caused by the rank stupidity and carelessness of cyclists and motorcyclists. So a new "law" currently being mooted by the "Nanny State", will only strengthen "Anti Cycling" feeling.

The proposal, is to make the higher powered vehicle "Always Guilty" in any accident, thus making cyclists and pedestrians always "innocent". Thus if a pedestrian, or a cyclist, rode or walked out in front of you, you would be the guilty party. Even if you were driving at the legal speed, exercising due diligence and having a roadworthy vehicle.......

Great idea!!! I dont think so, this will just lead to more compensation culture.

Statistics prove BREAD KILLS!!

A wise man once said, "There are Lies, Damm Lies, and statistics"

Using statistics you can prove anything!!

Even that BREAD KILLS!!!!

Bread Kills!

1. More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread users. 2. Fully HALF of all children who grow up in bread-consuming households score below average on sats tests.
3. In the 18th century, when virtually all bread was baked in the home, the average life expectancy was less than 50 years; infant mortality rates were unacceptably high; many women died in childbirth; and diseases such as typhoid, yellow fever, and influenza ravaged whole nations.
4. Every piece of bread you eat brings you nearer to death.
5. Bread is associated with all the major diseases of the body. For example, nearly all sick people have eaten bread. The effects are obviously cumulative:
  • 99.9% of all people who die from cancer have eaten bread.
  • 100% of all soldiers have eaten bread.
  • 96.9% of all Communist sympathizers have eaten bread.
  • 99.7% of the people involved in air and car accidents ate bread within 6 months preceding the accident.
  • 93.1% of juvenile delinquents came from homes where bread is served frequently.
6. Evidence points to the long-term effects of bread eating: Of all people born before 1839 who later dined on bread, there has been a 100% mortality rate. 7. Bread is made from a substance called "dough." It has been proven that as little as a teaspoon of dough can be used to suffocate a lab rat. The average Britain eats more bread than that in one day!
8. Primitive tribal societies that have no bread exhibit a low incidence of cancer, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, and osteoporosis.
9. Bread has been proven to be addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and being fed only water begged for bread after as little as two days.
10. Bread is often a "gateway" food item, leading the user to "harder" items such as butter, jam, peanut butter, and even cold meat.
11. Bread has been proven to absorb water. Since the human body is more than 90 percent water, it follows that eating bread could lead to your body being taken over by this absorptive food product, turning you into a soggy, gooey bread-pudding person.
12. Newborn babies can choke on bread.
13. Bread is baked at temperatures as high as 400 degrees Fahrenheit! That kind of heat can kill an adult in less than one minute.
14. Most bread eaters are utterly unable to distinguish between significant scientific fact and meaningless statistical babbling.
In light of these frightening statistics, we propose the following bread restrictions:
1. No sale of bread to children.
2. A nationwide "Just Say No To Toast" campaign, complete celebrity TV spots and car stickers.
3. A 300 percent tax on all bread to pay for all the social ills we might associate with bread.
4. No animal or human images, nor any primary colors (which may appeal to children) may be used to promote bread usage.
5. The establishment of "Bread-free" zones around schools.

A 9 year old with more sense than our legal system

In a week when the news is lacklustre, the odd little gem arrives. This story from London, tells of a little 9 Year old girl, with more sense of right and wrong than our entire twisted legal system. Her music teacher has been jailed for 3 years, after giving his terminally ill father a WWII pistol with which to kill himself and this young lady is bright enough and articulate enough to write to Jack Straw and ask why! even to ask why Baby P's mother only got 5 years and her music teacher gets 3, when he is no threat to the community whatsoever. What a twisted world we live in. I wonder how many years Gordon Brown and Tony Blair will get for the deaths they have ordered since they have been in power?

Lockerbie Bomber Feted by African Politicians

Perusing the BBC website today, I found this report on Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi
the Lockerbie bomber. It would seem good old Abdhul was "wheeled out" by the Libyan propaganda machine to make some more capital out of his release by the Scottish Parliament (remember nothing to do with Gordo!!)
His visitors were a bunch of African politicians (read corrupt dictators lackeys) who had come to Libya to butt kiss Gadaffi. Obviosly in search of more funds to prop up their countries regimes.
The good old Beeb in its non biased colonialist apologist style dutifully trotted out a nice little propaganda coup for Gadaffi. STORY HERE ON BBC
A spokesman for the African Union (read "Gang of corrupt dictatorships") said: he and his colleagues had come to "express solidarity".
"He (Abdhul) is the victim of international injustice and a policy of double standards," Mr Moussa said.

As if that wasn't a big enough laugh:

A Libyan member of the AU parliament, Mohamed Jibril, compared the welcome Megrahi received with that of a group of Bulgarian nurses who were convicted of infecting babies with HIV in Libya, but were pardoned in Europe.
"The visit by the African parliament to Mr Megrahi is no different from the reception given to the Bulgarian nurses by the European Parliament," he said.

Now those quotes were taken from the BEEB, as reported! Lets look a little deeper at the "Bulgarian Nurses Story", and what do we find, torture, imprisonment, false evidence and cover ups by the Libyans. So from this, we can assume that "Mohamed Jibril" when translated into English means "Lying Bastard"

Read the TRUE non PC version of the Bulgarians hideous treatment and torture HERE, this time the EU get involved in a little "self interest oil for hostages" scenario, and Gadaffi scores an EU coup.

Great little world we live on aint it!

Exmouth Strand Developement

Well well, the local council are going to spend 3 million quid on revamping the Strand Gardens in Exmouth. In these recessive times, not exactly "best value". See the debate on the Journal Forum

Devon NHS plans to close care homes

It was nice to read in my local paper the Exmouth Journal that our local MP Hugo Swire has asked questions of our local NHS trust, who are planning to close down the care homes in our local town Story Here and Here and thrust many vulnerable and handicapped people into the "jaws of private sector care".

Lets hope he gets some answers, at least that will be more than the relatives of those affected are currently getting. Thanks to "caring Nu Labour" we are seeing far too much of this happening, where the most vulnerable and defenceless in society are being treated like commodities. To be sold to the private sector, thus allowing the NHS to abdicate responsibility for their care and sell their old care homes for private sector redevelopment. This is not the way a caring society operates and these are not the principles on which the founding fathers of the original Labour movement based their party. But then Nu Labour is merely an ersatz copy of true labour, with no morals apart from those of the gutter. Led and populated by self serving, second rate individuals who would be hard pressed to find decent careers in the private sector. They have led us into the biggest financial mess since the great depression and overseen the ruination of our nation, our culture and our moral values, so what hope can one hold out for those too vulnerable to have a voice against their plans?

I have just been reading a superb article by Melanie Philips about the "Siege Of Camp Ashraf" in Iraq. This is not a US or Allied military base, it is the HQ of an organisation which escaped Iran because they were opposed to the fundamentalist regime there and had been fighting against it. During the gulf war, they gave their support to the USA and voluntarily disarmed themselves. Giving their security over to the protection of the US.

One US security company (read mercenary group) said....

Camp Ashraf

The Mujahedin el-Khalq (MKO or MEK) main base is at Camp Ashraf, Iraq, about 100 kilometers west of the Iranian border and 60 kilometers north of Baghdad. The People's Mujahadeen, also known by its Persian name Mujahedeen-e Khalq (MEK), has been classified by Washington as a terrorist organization. Washington announced on 22 April 2003 that it had reached a ceasefire with the MEK. The next day MEK officials said the agreement allowed the MEK to keep its weapons and carry on its activities in Iran from Camp Ashraf. But June 2003 the US Military Police took control of Camp Ashraf and the MEK was consolidated and all weapons secured by MPs. As of September 2003 the 4,000 MEK members in the former Mujahedeen base were consolidated, detained, disarmed and were being screened for any past terrorist acts.

The 530th MP Battalion, maintained the MEK Detention Facility at Camp Ashraf.

Wheras this video on You Tube gives a different picture!

Video Link

Now the good old US has done the dirty on them (there's a surprise) and handed their protection over to the Iraqis. Who have abducted 36 of them murdered 11 and put the camp under siege.........

This is an event which will be and has been ignored by the mainstream media, however, it is very telling as to who controls the Iraqi Military. Ask yourself the question, if the USA are in charge of the Iraqi Military, why would they lay siege to a group of people whose opposition is to the regime in Iran? Whereas if the Iraqi government and military is actually heavily infiltrated by Shia's and Iranians, it is in their interests to remove the residents of camp Ashraf from the face of the planet.

Methinks the takeover of Iraq by the Iranians will be merely a formality once the Allies pull out, god help the poor ordinary Iraqis. From one dictatorship to another, with merely a brief period of blood letting and carnage in between.

So this is civilisation?

Will someone stop the bus I want to get off..............

Spotted Richard!

And so it came to pass, that political correctness went mad again. This time at the HQ of Mold Council. For years their staff canteen has served the famous pudding "Spotted Dick" but the canteen has now renamed the pudding "Spotted Richard" due to some immature comments by diners.........

What the hell is going on? do i detect that council menus all over the UK will now face a "PC Makeover"

Any suggestions for "offensive foods" in need of re naming I wonder?

Let there be light!

So here we are, about to plunge headlong into an era of Darkness, created by the EU in its bid to shrink our carbon footprint. Yes that's right, darkness caused by "NO LIGHT BULBS"" First it was the humble bayonet fitting 40/60 ands 100 Watt bulbs that were replaced by the hideous mercury laden "low energy bulbs". Next it is spotlights, downlights and bulbs that focus light into one spot, none of which have been emulated by a "Low energy" replacement.
Let us examine the idea of the "low energy bulb". Its food equivalent is the "low calorie crisp". You know, the ones on the supermarket shelves branded, new lower in fat!, lower in polyunsaturates and "now only 100 calories a bag". Like the lightbulb, statements which are a con. Lower in fat by 30% because there is 30% less in the bag, lower in salt by 30% because there is 30% less in the bag...and so on! Just like the low energy bulb, uses less energy because it produces less light, uses less energy because it takes so long to warm up, you have turned the fu**ing thing off, because you have lost the will to live and lit a bloody candle!

Then there is the mercury, yes that's right, no mercury in filament bulbs, just inert gas and a filament, easy peasy. Our low energy bulbs however, are a different ball game. They contain a plethora of contaminants, worst of which is mercury. Even the dept of the Environment have published the following advice if you break one...

Official advice from the Department of the Environment states that if a low-energy bulb is smashed, the room needs to be vacated for at least 15 minutes.

A vacuum cleaner should not be used to clear up the debris, and care should be taken not to inhale the dust.

Instead, rubber gloves should be used, and the broken bulb put into a sealed plastic bag - which should be taken to the local council for disposal.

Unbroken used bulbs can be taken back to the retailer if the owner is a member of the Distributor Takeback Scheme.

Otherwise, many local waste disposal sites now have the facilities to safely collect and dispose of old bulbs.

However, this advice is not printed on the packaging that low-energy bulbs are sold in.

Hows that then, we have been sold a "pup" by the EU, a bulb that produces less light, contains more poisons, possibly causes migraines and eye strain, but will make our carbon footprint smaller!

Superb, all this from an organisation which moves its entire bureaucratic juggernaut across Europe every year. Produces a "Rain forest" worth of paperwork every year and oversees its member states"rape of the worlds minerals and resources" to feed its voracious appetite for products to fuel its wheels of commerce.

Pot kettle and black spring to mind!

When will this madness cease, when will we pull out of this insidious organisation and go our own way, before we are torn asunder!

Two more brave souls lost!

Well here we go, whilst Gordy and the spin doctors are trying to get their arses out of the fire over the Libyan terrorist for oil release. Our guys are still "buying the farm" out in Afghan. Over the weekend we have lost another Chinook and two brave guys from the Black Watch. But never mind good old Gordy has been out to Afghanistan to bolster the troops morale. Never one to miss out on a photo opportunity, he heard Cameron was going visiting, so he pre empted the shadow PM and popped over himself.

I wonder how much money it cost to ferry the PM over to Afghan and then protect him whilst he was there? I bet he didn't go for a joyride in a "Snatch Landrover" whilst he was there! Bloody pathetic, they could have used the money it took to get the PM on telly and spent it on "live rounds", as the press reported this week that our troops are being denied live ammo to train with, because a live round costs 30p and blanks are only 10p. Maybe a cheaper option would be to send the Warmington on Sea Home Guard to Afghan. They could attack the Taliban shouting "BANG 123, BANG 123 your dead". Think how much "in real terms" the Government would save on that little exercise!

I noticed a new "Game Show" advertised recently, sponsored by NU LABOUR and set to challenge the X Factor. It's Called "ASYLUM" and the pilot has been running for a few years in the UK, don't miss it. I gather the BBC have sold the rights to AL Jazera TV for an undisclosed sum....

Water is the "new" Oil!

I have just finished reading a sad new twist to the fate of war torn Iraq, after nearly six years ravaged by strife and the ruination of its infrastructure, a new and even more worrying fate is befalling it's beleaguered inhabitants.

The once mighty Euphrates river, once the "life bringer" to this cradle of civilization is drying up. It's tributaries are now just muddy ditches and the salinity close to the coast has reached such high levels that towns are being evacuated as thousands face drinking water shortages and their animals die.

Has this been widely publicised? For I have not seen any reporting in the run up to this new human tragedy. As if living under a tyrant for so many years was not enough, this new setback just compounds the living hell that has befallen this country. After being used as a battlefield by radical Muslims in their struggle with the west. Now the populace face the threat of massive droughts and power cuts as the river empties and the turbines in the hydro plants stop spinning due to a lack of river flow.

In the marshlands, the people who were subject to some of Saddam's worst atrocities, have a new battle against the dropping water levels, which they seem unlikely to win. This will lead to the subsequent destruction of their culture and way of life, something Saddam never managed to do.

A vast part of the problem, lies in the fact that country's higher up the Euphrates and it's tributaries have been damming and draining the river for their own needs, leading to a massive drop in river flows and water levels in Iraq.

How long can this go on, before military action over water, becomes the next excuse for carnage in the middle east. Is it not time, that the World as a whole, tried to address this problem, for without it, a country which was once a birthplace of civilization, will become nothing more than a stinking arid wasteland!

The BNP and the rise of Extremism

We recently had a BNP candidate in the small East Devon Town of Ottery St Mary. Not normally known as a "hot bed" of racial tension, but none the less, indicative of the spread of extremist politics to the leafy lanes rather than the "dark satanic mills" of the north of England...I felt the need to put "quill to parchment" on the subject, my comment reads below....

I am sure, that as the next few years unfold, we will see BNP candidates fielded in far more towns across the South west and support amongst the electorate growing. Sadly, this is the fault of a political class that currently run our country and are not prepared to listen to the worries of the ordinary man in the street. This is how extremism rises, we only need to look back a few scant years, to see the rise of Mussolini, Hitler and Moseley, all extremists, born out of the desperation of recession and depression when the working man and women were ignored by the elite political classes, they were treated like dirt and down trodden. The intelligent leaders of the far right, recognised this and pandered to their fears. Much as the BNP does today. Visit the BNP website and look at their "proposed policies", many of which are nothing more than the things folk worry about and discuss down their local. Bemoaning the fact that the government "never listens". One would have thought that a Labour government would have been more "in tune" with the "working man" but instead they have betrayed the very people who struggled to create their movement many years ago. These people then feel disenfranchised, they fall foul of job cuts, they see their life's work fall apart, their pensions wither, they see crime un punished and a policing system which protects the criminal and affords him or her "rights" whilst denying the victim any form of worthwhile justice. This heady recipe, is one that foments extremism and enables clever leaders to capitalise on peoples fears. Sadly, the "far left" are no better, stupid stunts like pressurising the chairman of Broadclyst Village Hall, so he cancelled a BNP event and "egging" Nick Griffin, only reinforce the BNP's cause, as it is seen that democracy is denied them. This helps them avoid debate in the public arena and thus the magnifying glass never shows the transparency of their policies or their failure to act in a manner which is suitable for a party within a democracy.
I personally do not think the rise in the support for the BNP has been solely down to the recession. We are inheriting the results of a generation of trendy "left wing" thinking, with no "moral yardstick", a generation of "Ethnic Diversity" that we didnt need, as we were all quite able to get on with our neighbours whatever their creed or colour. Unchecked immigration has caused many people to feel "strangers in their own land", yet the government fails to address the problem, those that question it are branded "rascist". Asylum seekers are wideley reported in the media, as being given endless benefits, whether true or not, the damage is done, friction is created. The opening of Europes borders, has made our border, only as weak, as the weakest border in Europe. Once in the EU, unchecked travel, gives illegal immigrants ease of movement, yet the government is so "In Thrall" of Brussels, we do nothing to halt it. Whilst all of these things seem small when taken singly, add them to the recession, the rising crime rate and unemployment and you have a fertile breeding ground. The government and the incoming government, need to address the fears of all folk, before we see history repeat itself, with equally bloody consequences to people of all races that live in this country.
The furore over the release of the "Lockerbie One" seems to be gathering pace, with a group of our "Special Friends" from across the pond having started a website calling for a boycott of England and Scotland...

http://www.boycottscotland.com

Having read their site from top to toe, i was minded to send them the following mail...

It was with some sadness I read your prolific and verbose diatribe on why "England and Scotland should be boycotted". My sadness was for the usual myopic "woe is us" attitude you have taken against a decision made by elected men and women in a free and democratic country. Or at least allegedly free and democratic. Do not misunderstand me, I have full sympathy for the men, women and children who perished on the plane, equal in measure to the sympathy I hold for innocent civilians murdered by American "Blackwater" terrorists in Iraq or those classed as "collateral damage" after raids in Iraq and Afghanistan. Human life is sacred, no matter what creed or colour and as a race of people the USA occupies no moral high ground whatsoever when it comes to killing people to further its business or political interests. Whether it be in Nicaragua, Iraq, the homelands of the Sioux or elsewhere on this "muddy ball" that we call home.

The freed bomber, should have remained in custody until the end of his life, for what he did. That is without question. But your campaign to destroy the jobs of ordinary men and women in the United Kingdom is as twisted as the intelligence you used to tell us that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction.
As a society, for years, you funded the IRA, sponsoring murders, kneecappings and summary torture and execution on the streets of Northern Ireland and bombings on the streets of the UK, yet it was only with 9/11 and the harsh results of terrorism being hammered home on American soil, you ceased your funding of murderers on our soil.

Now you cry wolf, now you shed tears of anger, because our leaders have decided to free this man. I do not agree with it, but I live in a democracy and the decision to free him was taken under a "democratic umbrella". That democracy was hard fought and won, by the generations who gave their lives during WW2 to ensure tyranny did not win. Sadly you cannot turn democracy on and off. Not all the decisions made will be agreed with by the majority, but the most important thing, is that the decisions are made with the political mandate, which has been handed to those in power, by those who have exercised their right to vote. I personally did not agree with our soldiers being sent to Iraq or Afghanistan, but I voted for the government and therefore abide by their decisions.

SO please stop this small minded anti British/Scottish nonsense and cast the microscope over the blood your countrymen have on their hands. The bible tells us: "Let he whom hath no sin, cast the first stone", perhaps you should put your basket of stones down and use them to "build bridges" instead.......

Plastic Glasses in pubs....

Oh my God, I thought "Big Brother Britain" couldn't get any worse, but I read today that the government is investigating the feasibility of forcing pub goers to drink from "Plastic Glasses".

Why you ask, is it "elf an safety", is it "greener", what other possible reason could the arbiters of our personal freedoms have for inflicting yet another blow to pub culture.

Well, you guessed it...Yes that's right, too many people are badly injured by thugs using beer glasses as weapons. So rather than increase deterents, or give prison terms to violent scum, our good old "PC government" are going to do what they do best. "Punish the majority of law abiding citizens" rather than deal with the scum......WOOP WOOP WOOPITY WOOP! what an awesome idea, I bet it took at least two "think tanks" and an "all party committee" to come up with that ludicrous infringement on our civil liberties. Working on the basis that there are also too many people severely injured by cars, I wonder how long it will be, before the government decide we must all drive foam rubber cars?

Who in heavens name comes up with this complete shite, surely they must have something more productive to do?

Warwickshire Police waste £1.4 million of Taxpayers money

Warwickshire police spent nearly £1.4 million pounds of Taxpayers money to police this years "Bulldog Bash". After a concerted campaign to stop it! Claiming it was a "Fund raising event for organised crime". During the weekend the following were the police figures from their own force web site...

Bulldog Bash – Operational Update

During the four-day operation a total of 450 officers and staff from Warwickshire Police and five other surrounding forces were on duty each day.

The operation resulted in:

* 448 people being searched.
* 11 people being arrested, including:

Two men from Birmingham, aged 41 and 44, were arrested in connection with a robbery in Reading.

One man from Hampshire, aged 44 years, was arrested on a recall to prison for fraud and theft offences.

One man from Lancashire, aged 33 years, was arrested for assault.

Six people were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.

* In total nine lock knives were surrendered, small amounts of substances believed to be cannabis, cocaine and amphetamine were also recovered.
* There were also 13 street cautions for drugs offences and one for possession of an offensive weapon.

All at a cost of £1.4 million pounds. Now if my maths are correct, that is less than one person searched per officer on duty.

Out of 11 arrests, 3 were unrelated to the event. six were for drugs and 1 assault. Which out of a crowd of 23,000 people, I thought was awesome. As for 9 lock knives and a small amount of drugs seized, not exactly worth the investment of £1.4 million quid.

When the event has been well run and violence free for years.

If Warwickshire Police have that much money in the kitty that they can afford to waste it, I would like to suggest they donate it to "Help for Heroes", as our brave lads are up against real danger every day and paying the ultimate price. They could do with the support when they come home that £1.4 million would bring.....IMHO of course...

Late Night Blues

So, another day over on our little ball of mud and it's work tomorrow. Lets hope that the coming week brings the usual round of excitement and challenge we have come to expect. I wandered around the new Princesshay shopping centre today in search of a 21st present for my daughter. How does this temple to consumerism keep going, already there are empty shops and the ones that are still open are all in the middle of massive sales. Even then, the place was like a morgue! How long will these business's be able to keep going in this current economic climate and how long will it be before "joe public" finally wakes to the fact that as a country we are not only "morally bankrupt" but "financially bankrupt" as well. The government has led us down a path "paved with cash", only now the debts have to be paid and the public purse is empty. I fear the rise of extremist politics, brought on by the stark fact that ordinary men and women can no longer afford to live! Or at least not in the manner to which they have become accustomed, these hard working people are seeing those that do not work and those that sponge off the state, getting everything, whilst they fall by the wayside as their companies lay them off, or their business's go bust. Not exactly a recipe for happiness and contentment. The question that needs asking, is "will someone get a grip of the rudderless HMS Great Britain" before it founders on the rocks? or will Nu Labour just continue following their course to destruction.? Who knows? but someone really needs to for all our sakes.....

Lions Led By Donkeys

Yet again we see the coffins of more of our brave lads coming through "Wooton Bassett" on their way home from Afghanistan. When will Gordon Brown, do the one thing to restore his reputation and negate his lacklustre role in this sordid war and "PULL OUR TROOPS OUT"!

Historically Afghanistan is unwinnable, yet we the public are treated to the endless streeling BS that this government spouts to justify our role there. We are told that it is too "make our streets safe from terrorism", we are told it is to lessen the flow of drugs into this country, we are told the Afghans want us there. None of which cut any ice. We were told that we were in Iraq, because of WMD's only there weren't any. Dr Kelly was blatantly murdered by the establishment as he was an embarrassment to "B Liar and Co", without him putting a spanner in the works, TB could justify jumping on Bush's coat tails and going into Iraq.

The simplest thing we can do, is pull out our forces and bring them home, strengthen our Navy and patrol our coastline, using the Royal Navy and the Raf, backed by the Army on the ground. Any drug smugglers intercepted, just sink their cargo and send them back to wherever they came from. Simple and cheaper than prison. Stop people smugglers and maintain our sovereign integrity. Then we should ensure, that our troops are only sent abroad to intervene in areas where we have legitimate interests, or where the lives of British Nationals are at risk. Meanwhile, the Afghans and the Taliban, can happily bomb themselves back into the stone age and create a regime of their choice.

Long Time No Post

Well here we are, how time fly's when you are having fun! Nothing much has changed in the world, at least not for the better. Surprisingly the predictions from my Dec 2008 post came true and the recession is biting hard. The useless shower that is the "Labour Government" is still taking the country on a "one way trip down the shitter" and the general public seem more interested in the activities of this countries second rate media stars than they are in our ruination. "Dumbing down en mass methinks".

Budleigh Salterton remains the hotbed of "Latent Nimbyism", with every idea to bring a bit of life to the town being flamed by the "geriatrica" as usual. Perhaps that's what makes the place so quaint....?
The summer has been as crap as any of recent memory and I am sick of the sight of skint morose northerners, wandering around Exmouth and Budleigh without "two brass halfpenny's" to rub together. I know times are tight, but if you cant afford a holiday, don't take one. Stay and be miserable at home.

I have just come back from visiting the battlefields of Normandy and the First World Wars cemeteries around Ypres in Belgium. It is the second time I have been and it is just as sad as the first. We started at Pegasus Bridge and made our way back toward St Mere Eglise. For three days, then rode our motorcycles to Ypres and the surrounding memorials and sites of interest. Very sobering and something I think every British School child should do, alongside a visit to Auschwitz, Oradour Sur Glan and Anne Franks House.

Whilst away an old school friend asked me to write a letter on her behalf to our local MP Hugo Swire, she regularly reads my letters to the paper and required my skills as a scribe.

It would seem, that our "Caring Sharing Labour Government" is insisting on cutbacks within the NHS trust and locally, they are intent on closing several homes for mentally handicapped adults and "dumping them onto the vagaries of the profit led private sector care system" allegedly to give them "Choice"...Don't you just hate that word, these people don't want choice! they want care, attention, warmth and kindness. They want stability, tranquillity and a routine which allows them to lead a calm existence. What they don't want, is to be ripped out of a happy well ordered environment, where they have been for up to 15 years and plunged into some hell hole, where they are a "cash cow" not a human being.

Why why oh why is it always the ill, the handicapped and the infirm or elderly who suffer at the hands of Nu Labour. If they want to cutbacks, spend less on useless pen pushers, quangos, focus groups, ethnic diversity officers and all the PC bullshit that infests every nook and cranny of the public sector. I thought Blair was possibly the worst PM in my lifetime, but Brown is rapidly filling the boots that Tony left him.

Oh well rant over for now! back soon with some more tit bits from my world...........
